Author’s Note: There’s a segment of the story that’s set in the early fourteenth century and involves verses from the Bible. As the written text of the Bible was limited to the clergy at that time (I think), Logan and Julian, as well-educated people, resort to translating the scripture they’ve heard recited during Mass (which would have been in Latin) in order to quote it in English. Since I have no talent whatsoever when it comes to ancient languages, I’ve simply used the words of the Twenty-First Century King James Version.
I apologize for any historical inaccuracies; I tried to do as much research as possible, but I wasn’t able to find everything. The speech patterns are relatively modern as well, as I’m not familiar with any other style of speech – so there are definitely anachronisms and irregularities there. Hopefully the mistakes won’t be too terribly offensive…

We call it Joss University here. I think it’s named after its founder, who got it into his head to plant a relatively large, cement-coated institute right in the middle of an already academically-saturated state in the spring of 1947.
